Choice of the photographers

Codima-posters.com : Online posters and photos.

Codima is the new website of Danny Cordy.

As a lover of nature and travelling, I enjoy nice images, especially photos of nature and landscapes.

Many amateur and professional photographers have saved a collection of beautiful photos of landscapes and animals. Among this collection there are fantastic photos, forgotten in dusty archives. Here started the idea to ask a select number of photographers to choose the finest photos and offer them on-line. Meanwhile, after spending many hours during evening and weekend, the website is on-line and new photos will be added continuously.

All photos are of high quality, allowing enlargements.

Unique selection of photos

Many of the images are made after hours of preparation. They are the result of patient observation, waiting on the correct incidence of light and looking for the best point of view. This leads to pictures of extraordinary quality, the more because each photographer has chosen his finest pictures out of a large collection.

Nature, landscape and animal photos and other fascinating pictures

Although we emphasize on nature photos, we also offer photos that breath a cosy or fascinating atmosphere. When choosing, we wonder which photo can capture our attention over and over again.

A pretty landscape can fascinate because of the rolling of the hills, a meandering brook or nice colouring.

Also a picture of a human face can fascinate, by the look in the eyes, the specific features or the combination with colourful clothing. Also authentic communities in a characteristic surrounding are attractive pictures.

Finally also a photo taken of a human body with right exposure can be as intriguing as a pretty rolling landscape.

We wish every visitor of the website much viewing pleasure and a growing passion to cherish the beautiful nature and pleasant life.

Strict selection

The images have gone through a severe selection. First the photographer chooses out of his archive of thousands of photos. Then a second selection, by a panel, takes place before the photos are placed on-line.

Exclusive photos

All photos are exclusive and there will be sold only a restricted number by country.

Frequently new images

The website has started with ca. 100 photos, mostly of nature.

Each month about 20 new photos will be added and gradually also other images than nature photos will be shown.

The Photographers

The new camera of my brother, aroused my interest for photography on the age of fifteen. Grown up on the country-side of West-Vlaanderen (Belgium), the nature was an obvious subject for me. After several stages of changing interest in all kinds of nature photography, I stuck finally to my present passion of landscape photography.

Meanwhile I got the possibility to acquire more professional equipment. New Contax material and some Zeiss objectives, gave together with Velvia a fantastic combination for landscape photography. I search mainly for photographic objects in my own country, outside in the nature.

Actually I am also changing towards digital photography. Just as with analogue photography, it is also the composition, the light and the subject that require from the photographer utmost attention to make a nice picture. Above all I try, with my photography, to evoke respect for the beauty of nature.

With prices in competitions as the big price of Belgium, Argus 2003, Argus 2006. International photo competition of Knokke-Heist and … I’m feeling I am on the right way with my nature photography

During the yearly holidays in the Ardennes, my interest for nature came already on younger age. On my 16 Th birthday I received my first camera, which was the beginning of my Nature Photography.

My search to explore new horizons became increasingly stronger. In the eighties. I travelled to different countries in Europe, such as Scotland, Iceland, Scandinavia and the Pyrenees. In this period, with some colleague photographers, I set up “nature in the picture”. A circle of friends with the same passion, nature photography.

The last decades I travelled to remote areas, such as Alaska, Canada, Spitsbergen and the Andes. Mountains had always a big attraction to me. Some peaks and climbing tracks became inevitable targets, both active as photographically.

Until today my nature photography, the climbing and travelling, are still my great passions. It is just a part of my life, just as my partner “Sandra”, with whom I can share all of this.

During my expeditions I got into adventurous situations: sink in the morasses, feigned attacks of elephants and a gorilla, ghost crabs running over my legs, bloodsuckers, sleeping on cracking glaciers on 5.500 m height, …

It all began in the tropical rain forest in Borneo, May 2004. Then on the age of 24, I tried to photograph nose monkeys with a simple Pratika camera. The photo’s where bad, but it had woken up my interest for nature photography. A year later I was in Madagascar and shortly later in Norway and Scotland. Just before I left to Malawi, I bought me a better second hand camera, a Nikon F801 with several objectives. Afterwards I followed night school and joint a club for nature photography “Nature in the picture”. Yet nature photography is not just a hobby, but a passion and in important part of my life.

I only take pictures in the free nature, which is not always obvious. Try once to ask a lion to show his teeth …To obtain good results you need a lot of nature knowledge and patience and … a lot of luck. Important assets for the “wildlife” photographer.
